Science Circle Presentation: The History and Impact of the Agricultural "Nobel" Laureates

The highest scientific honors in physics, chemistry, and medicine or physiology are the Alfred Nobel Prizes. They have been awarded for impactful discoveries to up to 3 scientists per category per year since 1895. However, these fields do not encompass all scientific fields in which endeavors are impactful. The Wolf Prize Foundation was established in 1978 to additionally recognize mathematics and agriculture. The World Food Prize was established in 1987 to award impactful contributions to food and agriculture. This talk will cover the founding of these prizes and describe the work of several Laureates.
