We’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes, improving nearly every part of the Taboo! Dating experience!

And now, we’re excited to say it:

The New Design Is Complete!

We believe the overall look and feel of the Taboo! Dating website is officially finished.

Every major section has been updated to fit the Taboo! Dating theme, creating a more polished, consistent, and easier-to-use experience. Buttons, profiles, messages, notifications, comments, menus, and other areas throughout the site now feel like parts of one complete platform.

Of course, we’ll continue fixing anything we find, but the main visual overhaul is complete!

The Matching Game Has Been Revamped

Our Tinder-style Discover game has received a major upgrade.

You can now:

• Choose between Only My Matches and Show Everyone.

• Send a standard Like.

• Send a Super Like to make your interest stand out.

• Use Redo to bring back your previous choice.

• Receive access to premium actions through qualifying memberships.

• Use credits for premium actions when they are not included with your membership.

• Reach the end of the available profiles without seeing the same people repeatedly.

• See previously passed profiles again after a cooldown period.

The updated system also keeps better track of your choices, allowing us to build even more matching features in the future.

More Virtual Gifts Are Available

We’ve expanded the collection of virtual gifts you can send to other members.

Whether you want to flirt, celebrate someone, break the ice, or simply let somebody know you’re thinking about them, you now have more ways to do it.

The Inworld HUD Has Been Redesigned

The Taboo! Dating HUD inside Second Life has also received a major overhaul.

It now provides more functionality, a cleaner experience, and a new resize feature so you can adjust it to fit your screen and personal preferences.

This is only the beginning of making the whole system amazing! 

Help Is Always Available

If you run into a problem or need assistance, our help system is ready.

You can access it in either of two ways:

• Visit https://taboo.media/dating-help/ or

• Open the HUD menu and click Help.

We want it to be easy to get assistance regardless of whether you are currently browsing the website or spending time inworld.

What’s Coming Next?

Finishing the visual overhaul gives us more time to concentrate on entirely new features. Here are some of the projects we’re planning next.

Groups

The upcoming Groups system will allow members to create and join communities directly through Taboo! Dating.

Groups could be especially useful for Second Life businesses, clubs, venues, performers, event organizers, and other communities. Group owners will be able to promote their locations, products, services, and events while connecting with people who share similar interests.

They won’t be limited to businesses, either. Members could create groups around hobbies, lifestyles, communities, relationship interests, or practically anything else.

In-System Speed Dating

Sometimes you don’t want to visit a busy region, stand around, and hope somebody decides to send you an IM.

Our planned speed-dating system will connect you with another available member for a short, private conversation. You’ll have a few minutes to talk and see whether you mesh well.

When the time is up, you can decide whether you’re interested in continuing the conversation—or move on to meet someone new.

It’s a faster, easier, and much less awkward way to make that first connection.

Evolving Member Awards

Another feature we’re considering is a new achievement and awards system.

Rather than receiving a collection of unrelated badges, members could earn awards that evolve as they participate. For example, a Likes award could change its appearance as you reach higher milestones.

Awards could recognize activities such as:

• Making connections

• Sending and receiving likes

• Helping conversations grow

• Participating in groups

• Attending events

• Completing profile information

• Joining photo contests

• Being an active part of the community

This would give members a fun way to track their progress and show off what they’ve accomplished.
